LARRY J MARTIN, EA

Larry started his accounting and tax business in 1973 after employment in two accounting firms. In 1978, Larry also became an Accountant and then Business Manager for the Geosciences Department at the University of Arizona.

In 1986, he returned to public accounting full time. The firm dealt with bookkeeping, sales, payroll and income taxes for its business clients as well as personal income taxes. Larry has been an enrolled agent, licensed by the United States Treasury, since 1987. Larry’s Business clients include sole proprietors, corporations, partnerships and LLC’s.

He also works with trusts, estates, and clients with IRS and Arizona tax problems.

Larry believes strongly that clients need to be given information and advice so that they can make the best decisions possible. Each year he secures substantial ongoing professional education. He is a member of several professional societies, including the National Association of Enrolled Agents. He has served as a Board Member and President of both the Tucson Chapter (Southern Arizona Chapter of Enrolled Agents) and the Arizona Society of Enrolled Agents.

MICHAEL P MARTIN, EA

Michael began working for Larry in his accounting firm in 1986 doing bookkeeping and personal income tax returns. He first became an Enrolled Agent in 1987 along with Larry, passing all four parts of the SEE (Special Enrollment Examination) test on the first try. They worked together until 1993.

In 1996, Michael went to work for Intuit, Inc. in their customer service department. He supported both TurboTax and Quicken software. He worked on the software development team for both Quicken 99 and 2000. In 1999 he became an Analyst for the investment and tax portions of Quicken, eventually leaving that position and Intuit, Inc. in late 2001.

Michael returned to the practice of preparing income tax returns and doing accounting/bookkeeping work in Dec. 2002. Since he had let his Enrolled Agent credential lapse, he had to take the test again. He again passed all four parts on the first try. Thus giving him the distinction of being one of a select few who have passed all four parts of the SEE exam on the first try, twice!

Michael’s clients include individuals, sole proprietors, corporations, partnerships, LLC’s, trusts and estates and even a non-profit or two.

He also handles several audits a year and works with clients with IRS and Arizona tax problems. He became a fellow of the prestigious National Tax Practice Institute (NTPI) in 2012. NTPI focuses on tax representation, which includes audits, collections and appeals.

Michael believes in the axiom knowledge is power and strives to empower his clients by providing quality information and advice so that they can make informed decisions. Each year he secures substantial ongoing professional education. He is a member of several professional societies, including the National Association of Enrolled Agents. He has served as a Board Member of the Tucson Chapter (Southern Arizona Chapter of Enrolled Agents) and of the Arizona Society of Enrolled Agents and is a past president of the Tucson Chapter.
